The Mission
The Mission of How Can I Help Them is to bring positive change to people’s lives in the global community of the medically and economically underserved.
Even with the healthcare reform and the poverty initiatives worldwide, new methods, new thinking, new medical advances, additional medical services, and new technologies are necessary to address global inequities in medical care, healthcare, economic and social well-being, education, disaster relief and poverty abatement.
This charitable initiative is based on the premise that “One Makes the Difference.” Whether “One” represents one person, one dollar, one hour, or one action, it is a call to you and to me. The mission and strategic goals are many.
How can I convince you to do something?…to do something RIGHT NOW?How Can I Help THEM?
No matter who one is there is always something that one can do to help that fits his or her time, finances, or lifestyle. This site combines How Can I Help THEM, and Telemedical Health HDHP to ACTUALLY begin to help and positively change some lives in the Global Community. Many dedicated doctors and medical practitioners working with field techniques and little or no supplies and lack advanced medications, critical medical information, up-to-date specialist consults, or adequate technology. By Western standards and even their own standards they are underpaid and over-burdened. Typical monthly pay is approximately $300 per month for a doctor in Eastern European areas such as Ukraine. If you are tempted to think that it is relatively a lot of money because of cost differences, you are wrong. Living costs in such areas are increasing for basics such as food, clothing, and housing, and other necessities. Most people in these areas dare not think of luxuries or even adequate transportation such as their own car to travel to and from multiple jobs, their own computer and connection, up-to-date medicines, or adequate medical care. Many are prohibited from geting a visa to visit Western countries for fear that too many of them will escape their dire circimstances and never return. Doctors such as Dr. Chekan and other such public servants are proud people and represent a proud culture. Over seventy years of repression has taught them to be silent, afraid, or passive to their suffering, as such, we do not hear or read about them as we do about the needs in the continent of Africa and other developing countries. Yet, in many areas in Eastern Europe, take for example Pridnestovie, also known as Transnistria, Trans-Dniester, and Transdniestria, most of the population is below the poverty line. Pridnestovie, a disputed area of Moldova, together with Moldova is the poorest area in Europe and is poorer than most of Sub-Saharan Africa, which is widely known as the poorest region in the world
Moldova together with Pridnestovie is slightly larger than Maryland. The population estimate is 4,320,748.

A more inclusive global approach is needed. Medical care, healthcare, economic and social well-being, education, disaster relief and poverty abatement are the major areas of this initiative that with your help will develop over time.
Send as little as $1.00, $5.00, $10.00, $25.00, $50.00, etc. or as much as $500.00, $1000.00, $5,000.00, etc. to help build a global telemedical network.This is the charity’s founder’s ambitious plan for a global system that has NEVER before existed in the world.“I will accomplish this, even if no one else helps financially -- even if it takes my lifetime to build -- but I ask you to join in the effort” Albert V. Sheppard

Telemedicine is the most cost-effective and efficient system to provide health care; and it offers the promise of helping to democratize and equalize the “availability” and the “best possible healthcare” to people worldwide.
Need Some Inspiration and Ideas?
This book was required reading in my Economics 312 Course at DeVry University in Fremont California with Professor Abhay Ghiara.
Some students wondered why he required this additional book in an economics class while other intructors who taught the class
didn't require it. As a hint, the professor travels everywhere possible on his bicycle. The class and this book taught me more
than economics. It taught me about the world, humanity, helping others, compassion, the brave common people who took a stand to
MAKE A DIFFERENCE -- and my own responsibility to DO SOMETHING TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE. I am happy that it was required for my education;
and I believe it should be Required Reading For Everyone In The World!
